Vilas S. Ubale , O. S. Lamba

Abstract

In this paper, we present the performance evaluation of wearable antennas for body area network applications. Wearable antennas developed on various substrate materials such as cotton, silk, and jeans are designed and developed and their performance under various constraints is measured to validate the simulated results and use in body area network applications. The proposed antennas operate at a fundamental frequency of 2.45 GHz which facilitates the unlicensed operation in the ISM band making wearable antennas usable in various industry, scientific, and medical applications.
